One of my favorite things is a hardy laugh. Whether it is at some ridiculously hilarious thing my son says or does, or a crazy look from one of my girls, or anything at all my husband says while we're watching t.v., nothing fulfills my time with them more than a few good laughs. Humor reminds me that things aren't so bad. It reminds me that there are still some things in the world worth laughing at. One of my favorite quotes from Audrey Hepburn says it best: "I love people who make me laugh. I honestly think it is the thing I like most, to laugh. It cures a multitude of ills. It's probably the most important thing in a person." I have decided that it has its place in other areas of my life too like real estate. How does one keep high the spirits of a buyer who has seen a multitude of homes, loved most all of them, wrote offers on those homes, and received not one acceptance? Sometimes you just have to laugh about it all.
It may be that we joke about keeping the avocado colored counter tops circa 1968 still gracing us with its presence in 2013. It very well could be the lovely burglar bars incapsulating every window and opening on the house that we seem to think screams "Welcome to my Home"! You make the decision whether to be happy or be defeated. I will do whatever it takes to keep the morale of today's seemingly defeated buyer as high as possible. "For whats in a laugh but a little bit of hope." That ones mine.
